How do we make complex geometries easier to investigate?
My contribution
At the University of Michigan’s Mechanics of Solids and Materials Lab, I developed parametric finite element models in Gmsh for elasticity, plasticity, fracture, and auxetic structures.
I automated meshing workflows so geometry could vary without rebuilding every mesh manually. This improved preprocessing efficiency by 30%, as reported in my résumé, and supported reusable workflows for advanced materials research.
The work included tetra-chiral structures and provided a computational foundation for investigating the relationship between geometry and material behavior.
