PROJECT 07 / Aug 2024 – May 2025

Finding energy opportunities

ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 assessments

Industrial Training and Assessment Center · Michigan State University

THE QUESTION

Where can a facility use less energy without compromising operations?

My contribution

As an Energy and Sustainability Analyst Intern, I conducted ASHRAE Level 1 and Level 2 energy assessments for manufacturers.

I combined facility audits and REopt modeling to identify efficiency, solar, and battery opportunities. Recommendations considered cost savings alongside operational constraints.

The 10–15% electricity-demand reduction in my résumé describes identified reduction potential; it should not be read as verified, realized savings.

OUTCOME / CONTRIBUTION

Identified opportunities for 10–15% electricity-demand reduction.

The process

  1. 01

    Assess facility energy use

  2. 02

    Evaluate efficiency and renewable options

  3. 03

    Recommend changes within operating constraints
